Excellent Math Book
As a middle school math teacher I was amazed when a parent brought this book to me. It was great. It has lots of interesting activites to do in math along with some very good worksheets. After having the book for thirty minutes I had already done to activities for my 7th grade classroom. This would be a great book for teachers and parents who are looking for some extra practice for their students.

This is an excellent math book, as a supplement or as the main body of work. I use it to home school my 10 year old, and am very pleased with the math problems in the book and the way it is presented!

McGraw-Hill Math : Grade 3
As a homeschooler, I have found this to be one of the best grade 3 math books on the market. The content is appropriate for the age level and the pace is one that the average student will have no problem keeping up with. The book gradually guides the student from simple addition all the way through division with ease and stability not found in more contemporary math books.

Wonderful Education Tool
This workbook is wonderful! It gets down to the point without the unnecessary distractions (such as stickers). It is easy to read and your children will have no trouble at all with the easy to follow directions. It is a great supplement during summer vacation.

Math: Building Basic Skills Grade 7
Published in Paperback by McGraw Hill Consumer Products (October, 1998)
Authors: Vincent Douglas and Asp
Average review score:

This is a great homeschool workbook.
The lessons are easy to understand. They are broken down into very simple, logical steps. My 11 year old is teaching himself these concepts with little assistance from parents. The tear out pages make it easy for kids and parents on the go.

We use it for enrichment at home during vacations and weekends away from school. He is in an advanced program in sixth grade, so the 7th grade concepts correspond quite well. We should be in the eight grade book by summer.

The price makes it a great deal! I hope they will publish books for high school.

I give this book five stars and a two thumbs up.

Mathematical Tools for Applied Multivariate Analysis
Published in Paperback by Academic Press (December, 1997)
Authors: J. Douglas Carroll, Paul E. Green, and Anil Chaturvedi
Average review score:

A great introduction to mathematics of statistical analysis
There are a lot of people out there who do statistical analysis but who do not possess the mathematical knowledge underpinning a lot of what they are doing (i.e., linear algebra and some calculus). Most of the time people can get away with using stastical software as a sort of 'black box' and not worry about the math. But there are situations when having the background knowledge is crucial.

This book does an excellent job of facilitating self-study of the math underpinning multivariate statistical analysis ... namely, linear (matrix) algebra and some calculus. Each chapter has a set of questions and ALL of the answers are provided in the book (handy for self-study). The one slight critique of this book I can give is that I wish the book did more on the calculus aspects. However, that is a minor comment and the knowledge that this book imparts of linear algebra to self-learners is extremely valuable.
